I am looking for 2x 16" Imolas to fit drag tyres onto, but is there a best place to get them, or anyone have some laying about they might want rid of?

The ones on ebay are advertised for hilarious money, and unfortunately my current Japan Racing wheels in 16" only come in ET25 so wont fit in the rear arches with the wider tyres.

Why not buy a complete spare set, then when you have finished your Drag Racing, sell the set for hilarious money!

The rarer the commodity, the more it cost's - look at the price of Estorils.

Demand is the issue. Many Chimaeras owners have, either to enable larger brakes, or for aesthetic reasons, fitted 16" Imolas wheels to the front. There are plenty of 15" about, being fitted to S models I've noticed. Breakers want ludicrous prices though. A full set of wheels sold last month for £140, what some places want for 1 x 15" wheel. Just keep your eyes open:

Back in December, I saw a set with shot tyres go for £100.

If it's for drag racing, why not just get some 16" wheels with Ford PCD of 4 x 108?

Thanks for the replies, it looks like some are still selling for sensible money (i think i sold my set around 5 years ago for £200 ish). I will just keep an eye on the auctions then.

I don't mind paying £150 - £200 for a pair of wheels but the people asking £600 are taking the pee IMO (and backed up by the auction price above)

I would be happy with any wheel style but finding an alloy with the correct bolt pattern, width and offset is proving a bit difficult. The Borbets linked above are fitted with 205 tyres so at a guess will be about 6.5J which is too skinny. Lenso BSX are available in correct sizes but at over £150 a wheel i would like to try and find a cheaper option first since its just for racing.

Give Mark at Amore Autos a call, he had a full set available, not far off your budget recently.

Hi
That would be ok.
But I don’t think he wants the 16in rears anymore. Looks like he’s got some now.

But at the moment.
15in fronts are on sale on eBay (not by me) for £40 each or nearest offers.

My full set, 15in fronts and 16in rears with tyres are still available.
£250
Which I think is sensible not silly money

Yes sorry I didn't check the forum but was offered a pair of 16's locally by PM which I answered first so am all sorted now. £250 for a full set with tyres is really good value and I would have been interested as another spare set, but at the moment my TVR is the only car and will cost me a fortune to come and pick them up from Birmingham hehe

Hi Ace.
Thanks for letting us know how you got on.
Glad your all sorted.
Just read your thread on your tvr.
Looks and sounds awesome.
Great work.

I shall place my imola wheels on Pistonheads buy and sell page.
Ive notice there is a full set already on sale.
So out of common curtesy.
I will wait till that full set as been sold.
Then put mines up for sale.
