Help Alarm Siren Died

I thought I would test my alarm today and guess what no siren. All other parts of the alarm work fine indicators flash etc. when alarm is triggered but no noise from siren, Removed siren ( another nice easy job?? not) question is where can I buy another siren part number M77A. Also read some threads on here that it has back-up batteries, how do I get to them also as I rarely set the alarm could they have died and be casuing my problem. How do I test the siren is knackered as I don't want to fork out for a new siren if it's not the problem. All advise guidance greatly recieved.

I've also used Carl for a duff immobiliser and can thoroughly recommend him.
He specialises in TVR alarms and sound systems, is very knowledgable and extremely accomodating and friendly.
