Nicest guy on Pistonheads

I wanted to make sure that as many people as possible saw this!
I was fitting new brake pads, discs and braided hoses to the front of my P&J at the weekend; but i didn't get to do it as Martin_s came and did it for me!!
Martin replied to a thread that i started here and offered to come down and help me. He arrived before 12 on saturday and, having worked without a break, left at about 6:30. No charge, refused to accept any gift or contribution towards the cost of his travel, cleaning his jeans or anything.
I want to say thanks, the new bits are bedding in well and you have saved me a fortune at the garage. If the world had more people like Martin in it it would be a better place.

I've left my vacuum bleeder with Tacoma for the moment, in case he needs to re-bleed the brakes once he's got a feel for them, and I'm away next weekend, but other than that, sure.
I tend to spend my weekends driving round looking at development sites for work, and my 'patch' is the Cotswolds, so I'm often not that far from Bath.

Agree with this entirely. Tacoma was able to help me out this Saturday after having had the help from Martin, Corin Denton took the time out to come and inspect a car for me in Jan and I've borrowed tools and had offers of help (more so than just a reply) from a number of other PHers.
I will also say that whilst the TVR bunch do appear to be the most helpful to others with the same marque, I have also noticed a LOT of PHers also willing to put themselves out for thers they've never met.
The collective spirit on this site is fantastic and should be a role model for us all...
. Looks like I'm on my own in this Tiv world of niceness then!
