Stepper motor gasket???

I've just gone to refit the stepper motor and gasket but have come across the ABOVE.

I can find the original gasket to compare, but seems strange how much this new on covers the square hole......this normal??

It'll be fine, there is still a gap for air to get through



If you're not convinced cut a bit out.

Nah not important at all. Its just effectively a crude air leak into the plenum to regulate the idle.
If it was anything to do with performance then yes not ideal but it isnt so it is of no significance at all.
