Heater pipes in engine bay mods
Discussion
The plugs have been in and out far often n last few weeks to the point where I now loathe those steel heater pipes thay run along beside cylinders 2 to 8
Was chatting with classicchimi the other day and he said there is a mod that some have done to re-route the heater pipes under the plenum.
Anyone got any info hints tips on what to do ?

Mine is done like this.
Renew the heater pipes complete from the heater, one under the inlet manifold
The other pipe, Run neatly under the fuel rail down the offside as shown in the photograph, fit with a union and an elbow into the front of the manifold. You should see in the picture I will put up.
Take the other one from under the inlet manifold dropping it down and picking up the stainless Y junction where the radiator bottom hose feeds into the water pump.

I have just done this mod.
Took out the heater rail and had the inlet manifold (underneath there is a rectangle block just behind the stat housing) drilled and tapped to take a spur pipe, one of the heater hoses fits to this pipe.
The other hose from the heater travels under the inlet manifold, then 90 deg and under the alternator, then another 90 deg and into the feed from the swan neck
Here you can see the pipe going underneath the Alternator

So much easier to gain access to the plugs
