Central locking knob “green LED stays in ?”
Discussion
Drove Chim in dark and locked it up in the dark and noticed the green light on central locking knob stays on when locked ? (It may have been like this before but not noticed in daylight ? )
Is this right ? Everything works as in locks and unlocks off remote etc but light stays lit , pushed the button on knob several times goes up and down but is not unlocking and locking with doors open or closed but light is on all the time even when car is locked
Right / wrong ?

I’ll have a look at my Cerb later, but on mine, that light being on, means the external door buttons (door mirror) are disabled. I normally press it and activate the LED, when in a moody area
For that reason, it would make sense that the internal light is illuminated when the alarm is set.

I know that if the knob is turned to open doors light should go out but mine does not ! Button moves but no locking takes place have checked door switches etc but light stays on , at this stage as I know it’s just an anti jack type feature I’d rather just disconnect it so.....is there a simple way to do this ?

Anybody know simple way to disconnect the central locking button on door release knob ?
When I say disconnect I mean the power to it ?
Light still stays on when locked

The light should only be on when the doors are locked and ignition on. Normally the problem is it not working which is often because one of the solenoids has failed or a door not shut fully. This circuit is powered from fuse 8.
The lock system is powered by fuse 6 (permanent +12v).
You could start by pulling each of those fuses and see if the lamp goes out.
I'm suspecting a duff solenoid but at the same time cannot work out what the failure mode could be.

Thanks !
I’ve manually pushed in the door switches and they clunk as they should etc but the light stays on , also the button moves but does “not” operate the locks I just have a constant green light !
Too add to this my courtesy light permanent 12+ had been cut and I’ve reconnected it and my light works as it should on the relay timer etc so door switches must be working correctly for this light to work , but now I have this green light issue ? It’s only cus I drove it in the dark I noticed it when locked it all up as you can’t really see the light in daylight so have no idea if it’s always been like this or me fixing the courtesy light as created the issue all I did was rejoin the wire ?

I have no problem asking a stupid question................I’ve manually pushed in the door switches and they clunk as they should etc but the light stays on , also the button moves but does “not” operate the locks I just have a constant green light !

What happens when you break the wire that you rejoined?
If it stays on with both those fuses pulled then you have a short circuit somewhere as they are the only supplies related to the locking.
May be worth pulling each fuse in turn until you find which fuse is supplying the lamp. When I know which fuse I may be able to point you at possible locations for the short or bad earth.

Lol.....yes first thing I did to see if this was the cause , made no difference to green light !!
Ok, sorry but I had to askAs you have already thought, best disconnect it and forget about it if you don't need it
Someone could have added an alarm at some stage and messed about with the wiring
Great thanks , ok yes I pulled the fuses but one at a time and replaced at no time did I have both pulled at same time , so maybe I need to check this again ?
I’m happy to not have this feature and extinguish this light but at same time I’m curious to find out if I have a fault somewhere ?
It does seem stage that fixing the courtesy light seems to have lined up with me noticing the green light and although I pulled the fuses last night , I had my electric windows fuse blow and then my dash gauges fuse blow , have replaced the fuses and all works again ! But messing with ya arm at full stretch to get to the fuses with long nose pliers didn’t help !!!!! Could explain the fuses blowing unrelated to original fault !
I’ve not had the fuse box out or messed with it just rejoined the wire behind passenger seat for interior lamp , I’ve disconnected it and it has made no difference to the green light ?
Like Steve D said I need to ensure I haven’t got a short somewhere ?
All locks work as they should , door push pods and remote central locking !
Buy a TVR they said ! It will be fun they said ! Lol....but I love it !
