Reverse light stays on fixed !

Just thought I’d share to help those that do searches in future like me !
Reverse light Bulb was missing which is odd ?? put new bulb in and it stayed on all the time so was advised new gearbox reverse switch fair enough! But....also read that it’s an exhaust off job (not a big issue but is when you have no garage and limited equipment)
Jacked car up (and used axle stand) to find the switch on passenger side of gearbox and the two wires going to switch had no protection and were exposed and were touching so creating the circuit, moved them apart and reverse gear works perfect now
Still need to do the job of taking exhaust off and replacing connections and use heat shrink etc but at least it’s a quick fix for say an MOT etc....
