Passenger Door Release Cable Snapped
Discussion
My passenger side door release cable snapped yesterday after returning from Brooklands Supercar Sunday.
Had a quick look in the panel behind the seat and could see the console release was working to a point but the cable has snapped and come loose from the center of the solenoid.
Before I just work it out does anyone know of any step by step guides or videos on this? I have searched around but can't see anything obvious. I am assuming the top of the centre console will need coming out to get to that end and am guessing it routes to the rear underneath the rear storage area?
Any thoughts, ideas, opinions or info most welcome. I am sure I will work it out easy enough but if there is any info about I will resist to re-invent the wheel unless required of course.
Thanks
Dean

You can look at the other side to work out which lever the wire goes to.
You will need to lift the centre console but will not be able to remove it unless you release the handbrake cable as the lever needs to go vertical for the console to come out. For what you need simply lifting it at the back and propping it up with a piece of wood will do.
The door 'Ball' is fixed to the tunnel top and the ball will simply pull through the gaiter as you lift the console.

Thanks Steve. Very helpful.
Will look at removing the solenoid and see where/how it has snapped first just in case it has pulled out of its housing or fixing and can be re-attached. Either way doesn't see too bad a job.
I have a set of 17" alloys I need to fit on to see what they look like to replace the stock 15"/16" Imola's. Not sure yet but will wack them on to see what they look like.

The door ball has a small grub screw low down that needs to be undone to lift the central trim, A small Allen key should do it once you find it.You will need to lift the centre console but will not be able to remove it unless you release the handbrake cable as the lever needs to go vertical for the console to come out.
