I believe my starter motor solenoid is stuck in engaged position. I'm sure I can release it but I'm also sure that it is a sign that it'll get stuck again. I'd like to replace the 20year old starter motor, I'm not looking for anything special, the cranking ability on my 4ltr has been fine. What's the current options for after market versions of the Lucas M78R. The prices appear to vary wildly

I fitted one of these 2 years ago on my 500, it spins over very well and cost just over £60 I think

Just done this myself and bought a Britpart one from paddocks.

Works a treat!

Think I got one for 65ish on eBay, swapped it out in under an hour. Works a treat!
