Steering rack

MOT is due in June, Im doing some pre-checks and I am suspicious of the stering rack, the U/Js look ok.

In case it fails, any advice on where to get a new or recon rack from?

Early ones I think are Land rover but newer ones are TVR specific, so depends what year you have so probably Re-con is better. Ring you local dealer they will probably put you in touch who will recon them for you.

Fraid not.. having replaced a 93 rack, and got another rack in the shed for my 97 they appear to be TVR only. I'd vote for a re-condition of the existing one too

I stand Corrected was lead to believe some very early ones where LR ones.

As Land Rover used recirculating ball steering in its 4x4 and not rack and pinion... Or was it peg and worm gear?

Anyone know a place that would refurb them...?
