in the boot and there was still room for more. I recon it could easily hold over 150, but I think that the suspension was just about bottoming out. Especially round the corners.

Oh well I'll have to wait a few months (of heavy drinking) before another trip to france to see if I can get anymore than 120 bottles in the boot.

Now that is useful to know, Ive never tried either Chimaera's but did manage 84 bottles in my old MX-5

I had:

164 bottles of wine
Various items of ladies clothing (what is it with women and clothes shopping?)
1 large box of washing powder (it was cheaper than at home )
4000 cigarettes
150 stubby bottles of beer on the rear shelf.

It did tend to 'rear steer' a bit.

Ahh...I'd say that clearly adds considerable weight (literally!) to the ongoing debate of 'Chimaera -v- Griffith'.

I managed to fit 36 cases of small beer and two people in our old fiat panda - was very pleased with that one.
