Check that the stepper motor is clean. Other than that check all the plugs and leads are good.
Okay, 1st, get the bible.
2nd, it is behind the plenum, the big shiny bit with TVR written on it (and 500 if it is a proper one
), right next to the bulkhead (window).
It is black, has a couple of wires and a plug coming out of it. You will need a BIG spanner to undo it.
Give it a wipe with a rag (the pointed metal bit gets covered in black sooty carbon deposits), try to clean any rubbish out from the hole it came out of, and put it back in.
Don't, whatever you do, do it up too tight - you'll crack the plastic and cause all sorts of problems.
Worth doing every 6 months or so.
Lots of idling problems are caused by the stepper motor.
