Valley Gasket Recommendations

Hi all,
I need to replace my valley gasket and am looking for advice on who makes quality RV8 gasket sets. Back in the day I would only use Payen but I'm probably showing my age now, what are the trusted go to brand for RV8 gasket sets?
I'm not a fan of Britpart stuff and don't want to go to a TVR specialists only to find I've purchaced reboxed Britpart gaskets at a premium price, to be honest I'm inclined to go to a Land Rover parts specialists for this sort of thing but I want to make sure I'm only buying a quality gasket set.

Powers built them, they won’t use rubbish. Price might be steeper but usually does the job first time. It will be there a long time I’d expect so a few quid difference either way doesn’t bother me to much. I like to support our parts suppliers where I can.

They don't stain and look horrible. Also composite may reduce the heat under the intake and provide a better seal around the ports.
If your ports are enlarged expect some fun trimming the gaskets. I have seen some that have been hammered over into the ports.

I replaced a valley gasket earlier this year on an early Griffith 4.0. I got a (assumed quality) new one from a respected TVR supplier along with a camshaft kit. The problem was the fit. The heads had probably been skimmed as part of the TVR engine factory build to up the CR. As a result, with the rubber end seals in place I could not get the valley gasket holes to align with the head and intake ports. In the end I didn't fit the rubber end seals and used a suitable sealant. Aligned perfectly and no leaks.

If we dont ask TVR questions and share TVR knowledge the next thing well know this TVR forum will be filled with people discussing electric bicycles.

My problem was a very slight amount of oil being burnt but only on tickover and only intermittently. It stumped a few people as none of the normal problems fitted the symptoms, eventually we concluded that the valley gasket was possibly breaking down slightly and sometimes a small amount of oil, probably from a weeping rocker cover (also replaced) was being sucked into the manifold.

You are of course quite right, what happens when TVR Parts suppliers go bust and all those other things we need disappear. Support your Tvr suppliers not Rimmer bros, where will they be when we need em most is my point. Surely a valley gasket from a Tvr specialist is hardly going to break the bank but mostly people are just looking for cheap!
I happen to have friends on here who might benefit from an E bike.

Idiotic, that’s me mate I own a Tvr, comes with the territory.
A bit like a so called mechanical expert needing to ask where or what valley gasket to buy, it’s no rocket science but if the info helps others buy from anywhere but a Tvr specialist,,,hmmmm that’s probably more important as you might save 2 quid.
Tvr specialists compared to most other specialist marks are infact very reasonable in price all things considered.
Without this back up where would most of us be. Tvr owners would be very thin on the ground so if this very forum is simply used to search out the cheapest option then it’s eventually going to lead to our parts suppliers giving up which would devastate the future.
Saying that we have about 10 years to enjoy the cars before it’s all banned anyway.
Based on your years of experience on cars you’ll have this changed out in a morning Dave
