Hi All

How can I test the breather on the T5 gearbox to see if it is blocked?

I can't tell if the breather will just pull out or if it is held in when the case and tail shaft are joined together. Gearbox is still in the car and I'm working from above through the hold in the fibreglass tunnel. I don't want snap anything trying to get it out if its held in?

Cheers

The cap on the end should rotate and jiggle scratchchin I find it unlikely the tube would be restricted behind due to the diameter of the drilling , however make sure the body/cap as not been smacked or damaged , when cars are this old anything is possible due to poor gearbox removal etc , if oil loss/leakage is why you question this parts operation oil overfilling will give a similar result frown

Thanks for the reply, yep the cap rotates and jiggles and isn't damaged in any way.

Reason for checking is that I have oil coming from the gear selector and dripping down onto the floor. I've checked and the gearbox isn't over full with oil. Selector is out now and I'm going to reseal it and see what happens.
