More Than garages have a cool device that looks like a carwash, this will paint your car any colour you like - I've seen them on the adverts painting a Land Rover Lime Green so a TVR should not be any problem for them. I think they have a website too.

No but it is an offence to do anything that reduces the silencing. The plod can give you three points for that. Works like this:

Well son that is a mighty fine sounding car you have there?
Yes I made the box striaght through to increase the noise.
Did you? well that will be £30 and 3 points then .

Thread on speeding and Plod about this. The car was a Jap Banzai machine but who knows....

Steve--are you saying that a) advertised straight-through exhausts are illegal and b)dealers who do this job like Mole Valley are breaking the law??

No. If I did I would have to charge you £500 like a proper lawyer. But I am not so I won't. Read the thread and there are some interesting things that come out of it though.

Especially as all it takes to get 3 points is an opinion of the police or court!

Anyway it is only an offense it seems if the vehicle is used on public road. Straight through exhausts could be sold to those huge numbers of cars that are only used on private land. It looks like it is a huge gray area again.

Some suggested answers if pulled over by Her Majesty's Finest... probably in order of use:

(1) I'll get it fixed straightaway O mighty Plod Sir

(2) They all do that officer...

(3) It was like that when I bought it

(4) Catch me if you can...

Or - Pardon officer, I am a bit deaf! Can't think what has caused it? (no rude answers please). Perhaps its because I drive 110 mile round trip to work and back in the 450?
