Buggerit!! I knew those bloody pads looked too small when we fitted 'em! 
From the Griffith Forum, in case you don't lurk around the guys with little boots, and bearing in mind that your Chim has the '500 spec' big brakes:

Bugger Sh*t Bugger Bugger Sh*t!!!!!!!
Fortunately only done 250 miles on them so will order the correct ones tomorrow. Wandered whhy they weren't quite as powerful as I imagined - thought they were taking a little time to bed in.
I even went so far as checking with B/Diamond themselves along with Demon Tweeks and Performance Tuning.
Apologies to anyone who followed my part number recomendations - I was only going by what the catalogue suggested.
I'm going to contact B/Diamond directly tomorrow and see if they'll do a swap as a goodwill gesture as its they're info that was incorrect.
I've e-mailed Mike (Tacoma) direct so he shouild see this thread soon.

Yeah, Mike rang the local stockist to ask them to check the references when we noticed how small the pads were in comparison to the old ones, before fitting them.
Reckon you both ought to be asking for a proper set of pads FOC from the manufacturer - looks as if it is their mistake, after all, if the reference codes in the catalogue are wrong?

Quick update,
I've just spoken with Black Diamond who are sending me a set of the correct pads out FoC. I've highlighted the error in both their Griff and Chim (260mm) fitting guide and I've been assured that this will be updated with the correct fitment.
Must say I'm extremely happy with their customer service on this one..

Guys, thanks for getting in touch, both through the siteand the direct email. I was uncomfortable with them as well but friends were telling me that 
friction has nothing to do with surface area (gee thanks).
Zippee, have you got the contact details for Black Diamond, I will have a look on the Internet and see if I can reach them.
