Daytime running lights
Discussion
I am thinking of changing the indicators on my 93 Chim for combined daytime running lights/turn signals. I saw an article in Sprint from a few years back where this was done with some units from Hella. Has anyone else done this, or come up with an alternative solution? The Hella parts are costly and I am unsure about wiring these myself.
Any help or suggestions would be gratefully received.

Job jobbed.
Car not meddled with.
Wallet intact.
(Thought - If it bothers you, get an auto-electrician to wire the sidelights into the ignition circuit so that they are automatically on when the car is in use. Another thought - if I leave the headlight switch always turned on on my 1999 Saab, turning the ignition off also turns the headlghts and sidelights off without me having to remember, a feature I miss when I drive any other car. I am sure that could be wired in a TVR, a thought which I will explore when I get my car back from the menders)
With all the modern stuff running about with nice white running lights I did think that my TVR was going to be overlooked on dim days - I changed the side lighting bulbs to LED type which now gives a nice bright side light that I turn on when required
Quite happy with this, as said before in bad conditions just turn on dipped beam

I have just replaced my side lights on a Griffith have a look at:
http://www.bertram-hill.com/tvr-griffith-lighting....
The first LEDS installed were exceptionally bright in fact would have caused significant glare to other road users, the second ones tried give a decent light without glare and are far better than the original candles TVR provided.
Bear in mind that this was on a Griffith not a Chimera as the light units are different.
