Sticky gear change question
Discussion
I have noticed that gear changes become 'sticky' after a journey. It tends to be worse after a longer trip. The gear lever will near a good pull out of gear when changing however it slots into next gear well and drives ok. There are no unusual noises etc.
Could this be a gear box problem or maybe just the clutch?

They all do that Sir, some more than others, others seem to loosen it off if you change the Gearbox oil...
Nothing to worry about unless it gets stuck in gear...
My gear changes were becoming increasingly difficult, ending up with the occassional 'clunk' when dropping into 5th... was sorted by a new clutch slave cylinder. From what I understand they can be another one of the 'consumables' to add to the list.
Could be that, but the fact that it happens at end of a drive sounds like something being affected by temperature which wouldn't necessarily be the clutch cylinders... sounds like one for the experts unless you do your own repairs.
Hope you get a more knowledgable answer soon! (as they say, 'a little knowledge can be dangerous')

The gear lever external linkage (which I believe has an extension mechanism), sometimes goes dry and benefits from lubrication. In general internal stiffness / notchiness would be expected to improve as the gearbox warms up and oil circulates, mine certainly does. Check that there isn't any clutch drag, which would cause marked resistance to disengaging a gear (and engaging - esp at rest). Does the clutch need bleeding (could be as simple as that). Apparantly there is some adjustment in the release mechanism for the clutch which I gather can be the cause of cluch drag (not fully disengaging).
