cutting out when cold

Hi all...

I have had a few problems with my chim.

It was running 'lump' at low revs and not too smooth through the gears.

I have since changed the engine temp sensor...cleaned the earth for the engine and cleaned the stepper motor.

It has made a huge difference to the running but now i have a new problem...it splutters bad when it is cold and i had to do roughly 8 miles before it warmed up enough to stop cutting out when i was approaching roundabouts and junctions...best way to describe it is as though it has no tickover...anyone got any ideas??

Have you cleaned the stepper?

yes the stepper is now clean...it runs a lot better since i have done that...apart from the cutting out.

Likely to be a faulty sensor(s) that's leaving the ECU with one sandwich short of a picnic. Get someone to rig up a fault reader and that should finger the culprit

If it has previously been running rich, the plugs might be too clever. Is it coming due for a service?

not sure how many miles it has done since its last service...waiting for the service history!!! But it is getting a major service next month wether it needs it or not...just for peice of mind.

If a dirty stepper would cause it to run rich then this could be a the problem...must admit i have not had a look at the plugs...i only put aa new set in about 800 miles ago.
