Just about to swap my engine to the new one built by Mike boostedLS. Thanks Mike.
Any tips from those that have done it or thinks to watch out for would be muck appreciated.

This may help, worst part I found was getting to the engine to bellhousing bolts, needed lots of extension bars to work at them from further back

I used this for the top bolts its a Facom 3/8" socket chain drive. Its got to be the 3/8 as the 1/2 is to long. I got mine from RS Components for around £55 and had the awkward bolts out in seconds.

There is another manufacturer of these item Tite-rite which I am sure are cheaper.

Make sure you support the gearbox at the bellhousing. If you let it sag down then it will hang on the gearchange sliding rod which runs over the top chassis frame member.

Might be best to disconnect and remove this first to save bending it.

This pic might be useful.

A simple strap around the bell housing and frame should hold it

I think you want to avoid weight on the ball and plastic cup directly below the gear lever mostly

Thanks Gents, the link to V8 racing, Robs, guide is very useful and thanks for the warning about supporting the gear box.

I have used a ratchet strap pulled tight under the Bell housing lip.

Well I did say I`d give you a hand when you came round to it, but you have picked a right old time to do it.

It’s not that bad a job, crawling underneath to do those bellhousing bolts was the biggest headache for me.
I found it a lot easier to remove the bonnet first too, not sure it’s in that guide.

Yes, QD hinges are invaluable.
