As part of my 'ever so slow' rebuild, I'm about to clean up my current system and would like to go all black on it - nicely match my ceramic coated manifolds that I was fortunate enough to purchase 2nd from here. smile

Question I have though is, what's the best paint option?

I used VHT, so far so good, but only done 300miles so far... my rebuilding took so much over new manifolds and exhaust were put aside...

I've done a few and rustoleum seems to last the longest. The better you prep the longer it will last, it always seems to start coming off on the bits where you think 'yeah that's clean enough'. My record for it all staying perfect is 3 years, spent 2 days prepping and used rustoleum.

This ^^^^^^^^

unless you get the manifolds sandblasted (wire brushing isn't enough) nothing will stay on for very long in my experience.

I've used that VHT paint in the past but nothing I can really report on with it.
Sand blasting is what thought about too. I guess I can't short cut this - when am I ever going to get somebody to it at the mo!?!? confused
