I have a cold air switch under the steering wheel .
The switch is I think four speed ,is it possible to buy a new one ? .

Does it have a seperate motor and why is the air hot and not cool ?
Does anyone know how it actualy works ?

I have one of these on my 1994 model - yes it is a second blower fitted on the driver side - cant say I have used it as like most things TVR it makes a lot of noise. Andy

I wonder where the motor is and the hose route.

It does get warm after a while .

Just pulled it out and its factory fit .

I have one on my 95 model, blows cold air onto your right knee, no idea where the motor is though, I have explored most areas but haven’t seen it, I guess it’s just behind the flap where the air comes in ??

Its a GM part and has 3 positions (same part as in the main dash panel) 80's Cavalier Astra etc not all MK1's have this additional/supplementary fan on the offside scratchchin some do some dont, mine does and the fan is in the same place as the N/S heater fan in the A pillar area but O/S in this case, lots of noise and and little ventilation its designed to blow cool air only IIRC I never use it

That switch was also used on the S Series, little while ago someone got one from Vauxhall Green Parts, he reckoned it was from a Chevette, but most likely used on various Vauxhalls of the time.

I never use mine, as like you say it just wafts warm air around. When the car finally gets a retrim I will probably remove it and all the associated pipework, and get the vents removed.
