Clutch pipe replacement

After fitting a new clutch slave cylinder I find that the copper piping from the master cylinder to the slave cylinder has a leak :weeping:

Is this pipe easy to remove/replace?

Anybody attempted it?

To remove just unscrew both ends and bend and manipulate the pipe to get it off the car. If you them take the pipe to any good motor factor they will make up a replacement on the spot.

To refit you need to bend (by hand) the new pipe into the correct shape and reconnect it. Be very careful to get the angles at the ends right so that you do not cross thread them.

An alternative is to buy a pipe flaring tool, a selection of ends and a coil of brake pipe. (Its the same stuff)

Not sure how the pipe can leak unless it has been holed somewhere which is pretty hard to do. Are you sure you didn't get a crossed thread somewhere and its leaking from the joints?
If you do need a new pipe I think most motor factors can make one up of the right length if you give them the original.

Erm , when installing the new slave I erm bent the pipe to get position as to not thread the hole and erm the slight bend punctured a hole (I can see it squirting out quite cleary) - not all bad anyway as the hole in the new slave body was to small for the original pipe anyway!
