Good price for tyres???

new to Chim ownership! done 3K in 4 weeks in my Chim500! now need 4 new tyres!!!My Local (Swansea) tyre dealer has quoted me the following:
Toyo T1 -s 225/50/R15 for the front's
Toyo T1 -s 245/45/R16 for the rear's

£75.00 front fitted each
£85.00 rear fitted each

Sound like a good price??

That sounds like a couple of pounds less than I paid at my local Kwik Fit. I phoned around and they beat my best price. They ordered the Toyo's in for me which took 24 hours and the fronts came taped together and marked for TVR only.

When having tyres replaced I recommend that you stand and watch the fitter at all times. The young lad at Kwik Fit in Market Harborough was excellent - that good that I gave him a big tip.

Tyre fitters have been known to fit the jack anywhere under these cars and damage out-riggers, bodywork, footwells and the like. So check the jack before they use it and make sure it is fitted with a good rubber pad and they know where the best jacking points are on your TVR.
They have also been known to hammer on rim weights to alloy wheels, instead of using the flat stick-on ones?
They also break the plastic wheel centres, the ones with the TVR logo's, which are removed during balancing etc.

I always arrange to take my cars very early on a Saturday or Sunday morning. You get much more attention to detail when they are not so busy! But if you are going to be this fussy I think a tip as a thankyou is in order.

Bargain - i paid £360 for a full set of toyo's for my chim 400.

I just paid £335 all up for a full set for the Chim so you have a good price there. I got them from Selecta Tyre. They have a price promise scheme going on, so if you have a branch in your area tell them what you have been quoted and they will beat it!

thats an excellent price, I paid the same in cambridge in feb and the prices have since gone up a lot. Bite their hands off.
