Hello,

Crazy ideas, I'm toying with the idea of trying to convert my Chimaera to having 4 seats and maybe a windscreen / roof chop so it's more like a speedster.

Has anyone here ever done anything like it?

I'm currently in Hong Kong, and I've advertised the car for sale but my plans initially had definitely be to keep it and modify it. However, there aren't many here in HK and figured for the hassle, it might be easier to sell & then buy a Cerbera.

So far there hasn't been any really serious interest and I am keen on the idea of keeping it and being silly with it....

I have four year old twins and would love them to be able to come out, so figured moving the petrol tank and then using the area behind the seats as seats for them would be good? Interested to know if anyone's looked into this or done the speedster idea?

Thanks,

Nick

It sounds like you want a little dicky!

Here's one fitted to an MGA from the olden days. Ideal for this chap with 2 girlfriends, although they don't look too impressed!

Probably not legal these days.

Why the kit car page? To see about changes to number of seats?

Thanks for the replies!

There were pictures of a Griffith speedster-style on here many many years ago, looked pretty good. Not sure if it was an actual car or rendering now though.

I doubt very much it has been done but i suppose the easiest way would be take off the roof, hood and rail then build the two seat arrangement and bolt it down using the two body bolts underneath the rear ledge carpet down into chassis then make the fuel tank less tall and cut out just the rear panel into the boot. Retaining the rest of the bodywork and boot lid you can slot the kids in from the top facing the rear and their legs would go through into the boot. Hows that?

One with aircon fitted and working, given that it will be 40 degrees and 90% humidity in HK any time soon?

Why not remove the roof on a Cerbera?
