I bought my chim 2 months ago after selling my mx5 and one of my mgb's to finance it.
I love it, but I've just got a new job and will be doing over 300 miles per week. I don't want to put miles on the chim, and I know that neither my mg midget or the mgb will be up to it.
I've listed it on ebay to see what interest there is in it.
If I sell it, what should I buy? I'm thinking of a z3 2.9. or an elise? I have £11k to play with.

Keep the Chimaera and put 300 miles a week on it. They're not fragile and this mileage is not going to significantly change the value of a '95 model.
Wish I had an opportunity to drive mine 300 miles a week. For various reasons it only stretches its legs 2 or 3 times a month the moment and in the last year I only drove it 3000 miles
In amongst all the other stuff you're driving/thinking about surely the Chimaera is in a driving-enjoyment league on its own.
Don't fart around with the other crap - commit yourself to the TVR!

Keep. I have been doing 300 miles a week in my 4.5 chim for the last year and it has been fantastic! These cars are to be used regularly or why bother having one. If you are the type who whinges each time you see a stone chip on the front then sell up as the more miles you do the worse they get. You do have to factor in a couple of services a year and over a tank of petrol a week but if you can afford it then stick with it.
Use the Chim!! Much more fun than a BM or Elise, (and it has the right noise). The earlier comment about the mileage not affecting the value is right and they respond so much better to being driven regularly!! Mine loves it! I am doing around 150 miles per day, and use the Chim most weekdays as its more fun than our Omega!! Plus you dont want the hassle of selling and buying again do you????

I'm not fussed about mileage or stonchips etc, these things happen! The main thing is that I don't really have time for upkeep on it, already since I've had it, the central locking has packed up, the dash has cracked and lifted in places, one door rubber fell off and lots of other little bits, that if left will make it look scruffy, or lead to bigger problems. My time on cars is taken up with restoring an mgb and a midget and preparing my other midget for sprinting. Thats why I was considering selling for a less demanding car!
