wavey just dropping in to say hello, having sold my Tuscan around six years ago and regretted it ever since I’m now the proud owner of its replacement, with a real engine this time!
Well it has most of its engine anyway, it’s stood under a cover for 9 years with the heads off so its a restoration project. I’m in the process of clearing the workshop to have a two post lift installed then I can collect it. Needless to say I’m glad to be back and fully understand what I’m taking on. I’m sure I’ll share its progress with you if you’re up for a new restoration thread biggrin

I love these life saving tales.
Welcome back and that old engine or Chassis won’t bother you much with a two poster. It’’l’ll be a cracker of a car I bet. I’m not far of finishing mine after years of rolling restoration and now complete chassis re furb. Fantastic feeling as these truly are usable cars with the trusty V8 and soundtrack thumbup

welcome, I and no doubt others look forward to seeing some pics.

I didn't know they did a 500 HC, is there any difference to a normal 500?

so this is my starting point! As you can see the engine will need a lot of tlc, it should actually be salvagable though, hopefully!

Ouch. That is going to take some dedication. Best you drain the sump as soon as possible as it is likely full of water.

I thought that only those up to about '96/'97 were HCs - didn't they knock off about 20 bhp after that to (supposedly) make slow-running easier?
Correct me if I'm wrong.

All Griff and Chim 500's were high compression, the 340hp was catless and the 320hp was catted.

Oh, high lift rather than high compression? Could be.

Either way all the 500's were HC :-)

Just a quick update, finally got the car into the garage on Monday, started stripping the interior and working on the electrical side of things while I wait for the two post lift to be delivered

No doubt I’ll come across loads of connections like this one I found in the void for the door lock mechanism

They all do that after a while hence leccy mirrors stop working!

My good condition car on investigation had that connector lying in the bottom of the door were water collected!
