salvage?

hi there folks,

i have seen a very nice salvage (cat d) TVR chimera 4.0 - 1995

All it requires is a new front bumper and wing. It is is very good shape.

My question is this, it has only 40K on the clock, but has been standing for a while. will this cause problems? is it better to buy a higer milage tvr that has been used, rather than a low milage that has been standing?

when the time comes to sell the tvr and buy another, will i be able to find a buyer do u think, seeing as it was a cat d?

The 'bumper' and wing are integral parts of the whole GRP body. Removal/replacement isn't a nut and bolt job; it requires cutting off the damaged areas (damage can extand way beyond the visible bit) and grafting new panels on. Be very sure you know what you're letting yourself in for!

You might try Trevor at TET mouldings, not sure if he can do a chimaera front end but he might know who can.

Or Fibreon in Stourbridge for new panels 01384 571021.
As Grifter has mentioned,the damage can go back further than you think,stress fractures not attended to properly will show up on new paintwork.
Cat D's can be worthwhile,just go in with eye's wide open.
