Front upper wishbone ball joint spacer

I am in the process of replacing the front wishbone bushes (the poly bushes fitted by a previous owner look a bit knackered/melted, so I’m replacing with oem spec) and I’ve noticed the the spacer on the upper wishbone is at the back on the near side and at the front on the offside which doesn’t seem right to me. I am inclined to fit them both at the front unless there is a reason for this.

In case it is relevant, the car was originally non-PAS until I fitted a second hand TVR PAS rack about a year ago.

The shims are there to be able to adjust the camber and should be the same for both sides. In most cases they should be fitted at the front to give max castor, but some do use a smaller thickness spacer either side to adjust camber to suit.

The spacers are there for castor purposes leave them be until you get the geo checked
