Imobiliser problem?

Can anyone help??

I entered into TVR ownership last wednesday and drove my beautiful new Chimera to the Heritage Motor Centre for Supercar Sunday yesterday.

When I tried to go home the car wouldnt start. The car will turn over and the dash lights and all electrics will work, but I cant hear the fuel pump whirring. I think that the car has 2 imobilisers, one for the starter motor and one for the fuel pump.....

Any ideas how to get her going OR does anyone know any TVR friendly garages close to Gaydon??

Do you think that it is a 'fix at the side of the road' job or should I be making arrangements to get the ca back from Gaydon, Warwickshire?

I had this on Saturday - try locking it and unlocking it using the plip a few times then try it again. Mine then started OK ...

Carl is definately your man.
I am sure that if it is something that you can do he will be able to tell you about it.
If it isn't, I beleive he will sometimes come out to you, but obviously at a price and I think that Gaydon has got to be 100 miles+ from where he is based. Could depend on how much, if anything, it would cost you to move it.

If your car is turning over, then it is unlikely to be a typical 'hot start' problem....although this is worth investigating as it is common on Chimaera.

If you cant hear the fuel pump kick in, check the fuel pump relays situated in the passenger footwell, the big silver metal ones. My problem was a loose connection in one of the relays. Trev.

Carl was really helpful and made the journey up to Gaydon on his bike when I was struggling to find anyone to help. It must have been a 6+hr round trip for him, so I was VERY impressed.

The car is looking a little more complex to fix than a few hours on the side of a road can fix, but Carl managed to rig me up with a very inventive system that got me home and saved a load of money on transport costs.

Now that the car is back in sunny Hertfordshire I need to find a local specialist (not main dealer) to help me through these few 'teething' problems.

All this in week one of ownership, but I'm not put off, the engine note on the way home lifted my spirits!

Carl came up to replace the immobiliser on the Griff about 2 weeks ago (& I'm in Birmingham). Very nice man and helped at short notice when the car was well and truly dead.
Got 2 new blippers programmed whilst he was up.

If it's alarm related, I'd suggest that you don't even bother looking for someone local, take it down to Carl.

After all it's not that far from you, and much closer than he was to your stricken car
