Hi All,
I'd be grateful of a bit of advice , I'm keen to buy a Chimaera as my first performance car and I've looked at a few but I'm trying to gauge how much money I need to spend to get a decent car. Also right now I've looked at 400 &450's and a mix of high and low mileages from 50K ish to 92 K , the high miler having plenty of evidence of engine and chassis rebuilds etc . I'd welcome any suggestions as to what to either look out for or conversely avoid , Cheers

£12-£15k seems reasonable for most 400 and some 450 cars, 500s seem to be silly money now.
Prices do vary wildly especially at dealers.
Look out for something that has had some chassis work done as this will be your biggest headache.
This is a rare car all be it a bit older, depends on your budget. Should feel quite quick if the power figure is to be believed.

Hi, higher mileage should not necessarily put you off, as long as evidence of proper maintenance, rebuilds, chassis work and service history is there.
At least that way, a previous owner would’ve taken care of the big bills and not leave you to pick up the tab at some point in the future.
Good luck with your search.

This looks like a bargain, outriggers done and the list of other jobs is impressive, Mk2 450 for £11.5K I'd be tempted if I didn't have a Griff alreadyhttps://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C1230355
My wife kindly said that Paradise Pearlescent Purple had my name (and personality!) written all over it https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/imgs/2.gif
