Anyone tried these? they are from Motorsportworld.
Cant stand the standard pads, they are crap. The above have got great reviews and are cheap.

Hi mate... as far as I'm aware the redstuff pads are race pads? They have very little braking power when cold and have to be kept hot (track use)in order to maintain their braking strength.

Just what i heard.. I'm sure someone much more knowledgeable will correct me if I'm wrong..

These are for the early 240 mm discs. Redstuff pads take a bit more warming up than the Green but you don't say what your standard pads are.
Generally the standard fit pads are very poor and overheat and break up badly particularly on the early cars that's why the later cars are fitted with 260mm discs and bigger calipers.
Nothing wrong in fitting the Redstuff but do the back as well.

I have had Green stuff pads on my chim400 and must say they have been fantastic. Red stuff are recommended for track use. I even think that green stuff are cheaper. Hope this helps.

From looking through the wheel i can just see Delphi on the back of the pad. The car is a 1995 400. I think i may just go for the Redstuff and see what they are like. Does anyone know if that is the correct part number for my car?

What about Pagid fast road pads, any views?

I'd definitely try Green stuff before Red. Green is for fast road/track use, red is for out and out track day use. If you try Green, and eat them on the roads, then I hope I don't drive near where you are

Now i dont know what to do. I had the Green stuff on my old FTO and they ddint last long. Had them on my MR2 turbo and was down to the metal in 6 weeks. That was a while ago though and they have improved them since.

Having just recently bought new EBC pads and EBC disks, I think you'll find that EBC have changed their colour ratings. I think they now go Green, Red Yellow, Blue. Red is the new Green. They seem to work fine now, but they did take a while to bed in.

The best all round pad i have found for the Griifith and Chimaera has been the Greenstuff.
It is very important especially on the cars fitted with the 240mm discs to make sure the entire braking system is in good order. No rust on the inward facing side of the disc etc.
The later cars benefit from bigger front discs and vented rears.
If you get a chance to buy a front set of calipers including brackets at reasonable money, get them.
Alternatively you can do a direct swap with some Hi-spec are selling which should be even better (£120 each plus vat).
Speak to somebody who has dealt with them recently before ordering though, as they have been pretty bad for delivery times in the past.

Well I think that i will give the redstuff a go and see what there like and then i can report back to you all. How TVR let them out the factory with such crap brakes is unreal.

Chim 450 with redstuff all round, drilled and grooved disks - it came like this having been upgraded by previous owner. All I can say is that the brakes when cold are good (at least as good as my VW Golf V5) and once warm (which doesnt take long) they are simply outstanding.

Looking at the receipt from previous owner part number was DP3617C - EBC Redstuff Ceramic AF88

Not sure if the disks are the standard size though - they LOOK like they are but I havent measured them

All Chim 450's will have the bigger 260mm discs up front and the vented 273mm on the back.

As was mentioned above, use a better fluid.
DOT 5.1 is very good and not too pricey.(Please note, i said DOT 5.1 not DOT 5).
