Whether it makes any difference to the fit or not I don't know, but the early bonnets have a smaller lip where it turns down at the edge by the scuttle/windscreen, the later ones a have a deeper edge which means the bonnet is more curved.

And the vents profile/size is different too, I would imagine they are the same coarse dimension MK1 & MK2

Thanks for the replies. I had an accident in the car 5 years ago which wrecked the bonnet, so got a new one made by a company that have a tvr mould does replacement TVR panels. I have had it for some 4 years now, and tried fitting it recently. The front and rear fit well but half way along the wings it is about 10mm each side narrower. So from the front to the back the shut line is 2mm slowly increasing to 10mm back to 2mm. Tried fitting the remains of the old bonnet and its 2mm all the way. The car is a Mk2, wondered if its a Mk3 bonnet.
So do I modify the bonnet to fit the wings or the wings to fit the bonnet.
Any help much appreciated, Thanks.

Hi Steve, i'm near Winchester, might take you up on trying that bonnet. Just need to fathom a way to get the car to you as its not road worthy. Thanks, Chris.
