Is it possible the power up of the blower fan?

I am getting on chimaera 400hc in 1995.

air conditioner is attached.
Is it able to go up power, although the wind quantity of the fan is weak?
How be sufficient to the Blower fan gain access?

Hi toku! We don't get many posts from Japanese TVR owners. I guess there are not many of you!

Aircon is not a very common option here in the UK, so you may not get much help. From what I understand the aircon performance IS weak, but it is rarely warm enough in the UK for this to be a problem.

Hi Toku,

I have a 99 Chim with aircon and have a dial that controls "up/down" airflow. If this is turned to point down, then max airflow is quite poor and even with aircon on, the resultant cooling is poor.

When the dial is set to point up, or up and down, the airflow is much better.

You *have* turned the blower dial to get more air haven't you?

edited to add: as long as the aircon system is topped up with gas, it's actually quite effective. I find that it's better if revving >2500rpm.

Altough i am "Griff" most of the air gets lost through poor seals of the vent hoses, so if you had cool air its cooling the dash ! I have also looked into improving the blower output/blast, but its already as fast as it can go, so time to seal all the leaks ! Also, with air con on, are the engine cooling fans on all the time ?

Isn't the actual blower fan hidden in the passenger side wing somewhere? I find that with the fan set to max the amount of air coming out of the screen vents is actually quite alot but quite poor out of the foot and mid vents.

As David says, alot of the air is lost in leaks (my driver side vent was two bits of pipe pushed together).

While the air conditioner is working the cooling fan is acting.
The air leakage of the duct is confirmed.
