Steering wheel question...

Anyone ever took their personal steering wheel back to the base alloy metal? with any success?
Im guessing the black metal is an anodised finish, if it were rubbed back to bare metal would it tarnish?

Just fancy an alloy steering wheel to match my leven bits, without the hassle of changing the boss etc.

If anyone has done this - tips to achieving a good finish and pics would be good. :idea:

Too much hasstle bearing in mind how cheaply you can get a similar looking replacement! Try the Carnosseur catalogue or any car accessories dealer there are many available!
