Good afternoon all,

I'm not after a debate on the pros and cons of 18" on a Chimaera.
I would just like to know a definitive tyre size that fits from people who have tried or are running them.
I am looking at the same as my Cerbera - 225/35/18 front and 255/35/18 rear, I will be using 4 rear spiders.

I know the fronts have pretty much got to be 225/35 but do I need to go slightly less wide on the rear?

Cheers

Rich

I have run 17 inch fronts and 18 inch rears before, but not spiders.
I went for 235/40 18 rears to avoid having to shave the wheel arches.

I would consider 215 40 18 fronts if I was doing this - I had issues with 225 45 17 tyres catching on the back of the headlight covers on 17 inch rims.

All the above depends on the width of the Spiders themselves, ie as to what width tyres they have to take

Logic says they should be ok.

My car was fine with 215 45 17 fronts. Rolling diameter is 624mm
225 45 17 is 633mm diameter, and they just caught close to full lock.
225 35 18 has a rolling diameter of 614mm, so would seem to indicate it should be safe from catching.

Thanks, I’m just wondering wether I could get away with 255/35 on the rear or I should go for 245/35

For what it's worth I have 255 35x18 on the rear of my Griff but that's on RL7s not Spiders.

Not on spiders, but I'm running 225R17/45 at the front and 245R18/40 at the back on my chim. No.problems with clearance etc on front or rears

Are you changing to 5 stud hubs and upgraded brakes as part of the conversion, if so would you consider selling the hubs and brakes?

The brakes have already been upgraded to Brembo 4 pots so will be keeping those but I am changing the hubs for 5 stud.
