Thinking of going for a look armed with the buyers guide, what's the general consensus on pricing?

Would be more standard with the correct rims and not the ones from a Griff' 500.

Edit.
Just checked it out with the DVLA web site.
Info' states it has a MOT. and is currently Taxed.
However no MOT history found, "Check that the registration you entered is correct" message only,
Not telling..........are you in NI?

The ad clearly shows it is in Bangor, N. Ireland so no Mot online history because of this.
I had a 4 litre with Estorils, they are the more preferred wheel it seems by second hand prices! The button on the centre console is for air con recirculation, so it'd be a real bonus if it works. The rear end has had the rubber bumper strip painted. The front and dashboard buttons are pre-facelift (correctly, because it is a Feb 1996 car)
Last V5C issued 1st December 2014 so a long-term owner, which should be a good thing.
Looks nice in the photos, I had one in Olympic Blue.

There is a link on the Gov' nidirect web site that says "Check the MOT status of a vehicle"
Edit.
From the GOV.UK
They are working on the service.......
"Work with colleagues in Northern Ireland to extend the service there (it currently covers MOTs done in England, Scotland and Wales)"
I wasn't aware of this.

without pics from enginebay and chassis its useless to discuss about prices.
this said: with such a high price the chassis must be spot-on and at least refurbished with body -off recently.
otherwise its just the usual 8-10k chimaera with a refreshed paint-job
What’s a paint job cost! this said: with such a high price the chassis must be spot-on and at least refurbished with body -off recently.

As you said it’s pointless to talk about pricing when you don’t know the full details of the vehicle. Nice looking car. It may well be worth every penny because as you say a tired s
t 10k car will cost a lot more than this to put right That’s if this is as good as a few pics suggest. Nice looking car, Goodluck to the seller.
if sellers cannot provide the basic´s warning bells start to ring.
everbody in TVR´s knows which areas are important....lack of pictures of "important" areas are concerning.
if a seller asks "strong" prices, its the minimum to provide "strong" info.
having seen too many TVR´s were sellers invested thousands in new paint, new interior etc...but all based on a rotten chassis.."the car has a fresh mot" " i have never looked underneath" "i have never cleaned the car underneath, just polished and hoovered it"...."the car has a fresh mot".....

Why don’t you just call the seller and ask if your that concerned instead of casting aspersions on someone’s car you know absolutely nothing about. everbody in TVR´s knows which areas are important....lack of pictures of "important" areas are concerning.

Paint job 3-5K +vat
riggers £1800
Whats the problem
Most car adverts do not show underbody shots and if you are genuinely interested you would simply ask and go from there.
A few pics either way will tell you little until it’s inspected anyway.
Ive barely looked at the add as I’m not interested in buying another Chim and yes it’s strong money but it might be negotiable and infact if the interior is new coupled with the paint job and what looks like a well maintained car and compared to the 10k dust bucket Type motor your talking about might be something of a bargain!
Cars that need a lot of maintenance/paint/ interior will cost a hell of a lot more to put right than what this cars offered for whatever anyone says.

Indeed - you could easily spend close to £10K on paint, carpets etc
And very few owners will have the skills to paint or do interior to a factory spec such as the likes of Central Tvr can do so when you see well presented cars it’s rarely been done on the cheap so you are also buying some ready made newness that a tired car can never compare too in those areas. As I’ve often said, it doesn’t matter whats wrong or right about it it’s what still needs to be done you need to look at when buying any older car that’s 20 years + old.
Frankly I’d someone has had a proper paint correction and overall is highly maintained I’m not bothered if it’s only riggers.
We have this idea rotten triggers suggests it’s semi terminal When in truth now days it’s being done at any given TVR centre almost continuously so if 80% of the car is good and in really fine order so what just consider this in your offer price.
As said many times before if it’s got decent original riggers they will need doing sooner or later so like the cost of a 36,000 miles service factor it in.
I’d buy that car over a nail that’s had a few tubes tacked on but the rest is a pig and worn out. It’s obvious.
If we can replace these riggers without having to do complete chassis you are adding a good 10/15 years life to the chassis
If you do a full body off probably adding 25 years but that really depends on chassis covering and what you use to protect your new riggers and vulnerable chassis sections from the future elements.
Prevention being better than cure.
The logic of all this is with decent rubberised stone chip and modern paint systems aligned with the very decent rigger protectors that can be obtained ( from a Tvr owner ) you should be able to look after those areas far better than they ever could from the factory and extend there life by many years. Happy days

ETA
And I don’t think you can buy those wheels for less than a bag of sand

Sell the wheels and pay for your riggers from the profit
