I thought i'd repost Chimaera forum - window switch working intermittently, ordered new switch. Tested switch all okay.

Disconected arm rest unplugged window plus aircon switches, reconnected exactly the same and nothing working. Everything else electrical working okay, so experimented.

Outcome is - Windows work but only when switch fitted upside down only ie wrong way to both connectors AND only when dipped lights switched on !!!

I know its a TVR but disconnecting 3 switches then reconnecting them (done this several times previously), this really doesnt make sense.

Fuses obviously okay, nothing else messed with. Has anyone come across this before or make a suggestion for those of you with electrical know how?

Funny one with my new to me Wedge.
Window switches, press up for down and down for up.
Think it must have been made for the Aussie market...
Now repatriated to UK spec.

If it were me I'd be chasing the loom back from the switches checking for nicks in the wires or dodgy repairs, for the side lights to be involved I would be thinking there's a short somewhere that you've uncovered by pulling the loom about.

thanks some good suggestions here to try. Busy with work this week and not keen sitting cold garage late at night plus fed up with it really.

Try sorting it this weekend with washer pump and report back.
