Dash board removal

Does anyone know how to remove the main dash panel. My heaters are not working and i think the one of the wires is off the switch...also how long (roughly) will it take?

undo "glovebox" screws and let it drop down there is one bolt to the rear left, one bolt right at the front but to the right of the glovebox and one at the very right hand side of the dash, removal can be tricky as the bolts are riduculously long. Be real careful or you WILL scratch your leather - I shortened the RHS bolt before re-fitting it ...

You don't need to remove it to do this. There are three 10mm nuts holding the top on. You need to remove two of these and then ease the top up. Positioning of the nuts is impossible to describe but they are shown in the Bible.

Buy a Bible and all will be revealed.

made the mistake of ordering the bible from amazon.co.uk...said it would take two weeks to deliver!!!! and that was about three weeks ago...

Was having some work done on mine by the famous Carl Baker. He lifted the passenger side of my dash and had a rubber bung ready to screw onto the end of the bolt so that any slips would not damage the leather, he's obviously used to doing it............ Top bloke and good idea.

When replacing his dash top, ntel used wing nuts instead of putting the original nuts back on. It makes any further removal a lot easier. Good idea or wot!! Trev.
