Strange noise from passenger door

Hi all,
finally took delivery of my 450 last week, and have been enjoying 'her' ever since.
Didn't take long to have a couple of niggles, nothing to major i hope so i'm hoping you guys can assist.
Had no headlight on one side, but that was an easy enough fix through the wheelarch, My main concern however lies with the passenger door. Sometimes, although not always, when i unlock the doors using the fob, or from inside there is a loud 'rasping clunky' noise from the passenger side. The door still works fine, but i guess thats due to the mechanical release from inside.
The solenoid was replaced a couple of weeks ago just before i bought it ( seen receipt) so wondered if you guys have any ideas of a fix or cause.
As i said it doesn't happen every time, and the doors work fine.... just makes you jump if you aren't expecting it.

yeah, its prone to doing it whichever method i use to open the door. The actual mechanics of the door release mechanism seem to be fine as the door opens without fault. I can open either door and the noise comes from the passenger side. I'm not pretending to have a trained ear in these matters, but i would say from the pillar rather than the door itself.
From the couple of years i have spent reading posts on here i would guess solenoid, but wondered if anyone knew any better, or if a good dosing of WD40 might do the trick. The solenoid is new, so didn't want to squirt it if i might knacker it.
Its not stopping me from using it day to day..... especially in this weather.

You should be able to see into the pillar section behind the drivers seat. It may get to closer to the 'sound'. I wouldn't go spraying WD40 around willy nilly (ooer missus) Remember WD40 is not a general lubricant! Its a water displacer that has slight lubricating properties.
Does sound like it could possibly be the end of the Bowden cable rubbing the inside of the bodywork.
Can't say I've seen this question posted before, but there’s bound to be someone out there that's got the answer. Have you tried asking your garage?

i am pretty confident in saying the sound is too loud to be a cable rubbing, and when it does occur there is usually an electrical input to the door (locks etc) Just wondered what was in the pillar really... If its just the solenoid i may ask the guy that replaced it a couple of weeks ago (a fix for the same prob) if its possible the solenoid he put in could be faulty...... Failing that..Fernhursts at the next service. I can live with it for the time being. There can't be anything in the door mechanism that will cause a major problem..can there??
