Noticed a loss of PAS fluid over time and discovered that the off side boot was leaking fluid. Looks like a seal has gone.

Anyone recommend a company and approx cost for rebuilding it?

Also is it easy to remove from car?

Yes killey Clinton in Birmingham , don’t trust anyone else, fairly easy to do your have to ring them to get a price bit 200-350 but you want the new improved seals fitted

I had mine done by Kily Clinton last October including the modified seal and bush’ it was about £400. I also had the pump checked and they found a fault. So that is worthwhile having done at the same time. They can supply you with close fitting pipes as the ones that Tvr fitted can make it a bit tight to get out,I had to take mine off.

It is a job you only want to do once.

Did you take off the rack yourselves or drive in. I’m happy to remove it.

Even though the rack can be wiggled out through a wheel arch with the track rods on, the easiest way is to remove the Y piece which usually can be wiggled off without removing the exhaust system, remove the track rods which simply unscrew using a large spanner and lift the rack out through the top of the engine compartment without any fuss.

F^^^^^^^^^^

This is definitely worth the trouble, much more difficult with the track rods in place.l I haven't tried it but it might be possible to remove one side only.

I removed mine through the n/s wheel arch as recommended by Steve D As I was also removing the pump I drained the cooling system and removed the bottom hose and pipe work to give it a bit more room and removed the swirl pot to get at the pump. Disconnect the steering u/j's remove track rod ends and it should come out. Mine was very tight to move so I removed the two copper transfer pipes and it came out ok. I replaced the transfer pipes with the close fitting ones from K C and it went back in with no problems.

The viton seal is loose no circlip, may be normal not sure. But copper pipes broke removing them, they have had it any way.

Please excuse me if I have misunderstood your post, but that white washer is surely the rack stop not a seal?
