Footwell Air Vents

anybody know which car the footwell air vents are off, or where I can get them?

Mine seems to have dissappeared and the pipe it connects to has come away letting hot engine air into the cabin! Which when I'm :driving: is a bit hot!

They are from many vehicles Alfa's, coaches etc but are also the dash vents from Lotus Elise and VX220's so can be bought from your local Vauxhall dealer - I think i paid about £12 a couple of years ago

Will that solve the problem? If the setting is set to cold it should be cold air coming in, even if the louvres are missing?

(or have I misunderstood...which is most likely )

No, it's probably me that's got it all wrong as usual

The vent is held in place by the ventilation pipe with an 'O' ring. The ring had loosened and the vent fell out at some point, so the pipe (which runs from the heater through the engine bay into the bulkhead near the clutch pedal falls away from the hole, so you can see into the engine bay.

I guessed that hot engine air from the manifolds was drifting in at speed.

Also, it doesn't matter what setting you have the heating on, its always BBQ time

I noticed whilst upside down in the footwell once that there seems to be an ally restrictor plate in the footwell vents..anyone else have these - presumably to equalise the flow between feet and face ???
