Having picked up my lovely 5L Chim. yesterday I'm puzzled as to the alarm / starting procedure. Surely I don't have to enable / disable the alarm if I miss some sort of time window after first getting into the car. Could someone guide me through this please and apologies for the numpty request! The car is a 1997 if that makes any difference.
Does anyone know what make / model of alarams are fitted to '97 Chims and if they are Thatcham approved?
Thanks folks!

Aren't these beasts fantastic by the way, a whole lot different from the V8S I had before.

Should be the dreaded Meta system.
Just turn the key and press the fob if the 15 second window has passed. You can't override that setting! Really doesn't take that much effort

Did you get a handbook, sure it's all in there?
Anyway as has been said, the immobiliser re-sets itself if you unlock/dis-arm the car and then do nothing for 15 secs. Rich...

Oh and you should have got a little funny piece of black plastic which you can stuff in the funny little sort of key hole type thing on the steering binnacle. It does the same as briefly re-blipping the blipper ...
