Alarm

Hi Fella's. Need a bit of advice. Im at work at the moment but the Mrs is at home and tells me that the Chimaera's alarm is chirping intermittently . I've got her to start the car and the alarm will then sound continuously. Apparently its annoying the neighbours which is excellent but how do I get it to stop? Any help appreciated but she's 41 weeks pregnant so it can't involve moving the battery until I get home.

The alarm siren has it's own internal battery so I doubt removing the main battery would be of much help.
There has been talk on here of when the internal siren battery is running low it will go a bit crazy in the way your describing, I'm sure someone more knowledgeable will be along in a mo to back me up and suggest a solution.

Sounds to me like it may be about to pack up. We had similar and it turned out to be the siren had gone duff. It plugs in to the loom around the radiator area and so is subjected to lots of water and dirt etc. Check the connectors and make sure they are clean.
Unplugging the siren will set it off as the internal battery takes over and it takes ages to go flat, if you intend trying to repair it wrap it in about 10 blankets. If you intend to get a new one, drop it in a bucket of water

The siren is about £80 and not difficult to fit. Can't recall where the siren is on the Chim but you may want to angler it differently and put a food bag with and elastic band to hold it over the siren. Must on a Griff as they are attached to the inner wing wher the water runs down.
