Hello scc1. Starter died on my 400se early this year. Sent it down to Tower View who did a superb recon job on it. Came back looking almost as good as new. Don't have their number to hand but I'm sure someone will supply it for you.

Cheers

Just had mine replaced on my Griff at Motorvation in northampton cost £159 with fitting. Number is 01604 765007 ask for Paul they look after a number of TVR's. Northants meet tomorrow 12.30 at The Red Lion at Brafield, perhaps see you there.

Noooooooo......
They don't fit. They are hi-torque small units so that they don't hit the manifold. These are used on Range Rovers but the Rover part number won't tell you which one you will get of the several that have been used. No guarentee it will fit.

New they are around £350 ish which is why a recon is a good way forward.

well thanks for all that info chaps and thanks ddgriff i have the car booked into motorvation in northampton as they will fit a recon unit for about the same price as you paid ,i dont normally let anyone touch my cars that i dont know but as i am on shift i just don't have the time to do the job myself ,but then you seem pleased enough with the job they did on your griff .And i thought the turn out on sunday was very good but got stuck for words when asked what i wanted out of a car club (by your partner) ,and i thought what do i really want ,well i would like to go on club runs to various places, to meet once or more a month and talk about our cars and swap ideas ,i dont know about track days though as my driving is very limited as i only do motorway driving every day 47k per year ,and i would like to be able to get cheaper spare parts if i need them ....
