Fob or fobbed off?
Discussion
When I purchased my 1994 Chimaera 4.0 during lockdown, the seller told me there weren't any immobiliser fobs with the car.
I assume it has an alarm / immobiliser, but haven't yet explored under the dash to look see?
He added that " fobs are a pain, just use the key, to lock / unlock the doors". So I wasn't sure the car had ever had any, or perhaps he'd lost them?
I accepted that at the time, but have electrical parasitic battery drain issues, and need to ascertain if the original car was supplied with a 'fobbed' immobiliser, to decide which route to take in replacing , repairing or ditching, the alarm / immobiliser apparatus?
Does anybody have a similar year unadulterated car, that could confirm what the car would have originally been specified with?
What does the panel think is best route please?
Your thoughts/ suggestions appreciated.

The key slot door opener buttons went out in approx. late 1994. So as an earlier model, it wouldn't have had the Meta immobiliser system (and the bypass fob slot shown above), but possibly Gemini or Foxguard. HF are very helpful in my experience:
