suitable tyre suggestions please

I am gonna need to change my tyres this year i think, now i may be running non standard wheels by this time or maybe not... I understand the Bridgestone Potenza's are discontinued (i have these)

Does anyone have any suggestions about this as i would like a tyre that performs similarly to the Bridgies' And i would also like one with a pretty tread pattern (fickle i know)

Help/experience much appreciated ;)

Have you tried doing a search, as tyre questions tend to surface fairly frequently?

FWIW, when I need new boots, Toyos will be the way for me...

Toyo R888's have nice pattern!! Seriously, I have just fitted a set on my Griff and they are getting better all the time...

When mine need replacing I'll be using either Eagle F1s or Avon ZZ3's.
Both are directional and so have a 'pretty' pattern for you to look at.

I wouldn't even consider the Toyo R888's if there is any chance of going out in the wet.
Personally, I don't think the tread pattern is as agressive as the T1-S Proxes.

The reason these tyres are not as aggressive a tread pattern is because they are a road legal control race tyre like the AO48R mentioned above.
Plenty off grip but will wear out V.Quickly.
The T1-S is a very good tyre by the way.

Used on Lotus Exige to good effect.

Hiya,

I have just bought four new SO2's from my local dealer and am really happy with them. Best compromise for the Tiv between grip and wear rate!
Had 18" Toyos on my Cerb but lasted around 1500 miles only (great grip though) which for a 'daily driver' car gets expensive.
IMHO Bridgestone is the best tyre for this particular car!

Jeez! Wot were you doing with it?!!! Do you live near Santa Pod by any chance?

I have a set of Toyo T-1S, and have covered 4000 miles on them, and they still look brand new. Previous owner told me he got well over 10,000 miles on a set. Oh, and I daily drive too.

- Toyo T1-S, have been great in all conditions on my 17 and 18 inch wheels . Combination of aggressive road driving and occasional track days and sprints give wear rate of about 6000 miles for the rears and 8000 on the fronts. I'm not sure how they compare with the latest T1-R (others can comment). AFAIK the R888 is a road legal track-day / competition tyre presumably with a very soft compound and comensurately short life, had considered these (only) for sprints (if legal) or track days.

Yes I did have the soft compound on there, although at the time didn't know as they were on the car when I bought it. Had some great fun though!! Deserted roundabouts (South Mimms was fun!)were best!! Being Mr Sensible now as am on 'a budget'!!
