Hi all.
Need some help please.
I’ve found a pair of wires in the boot buy the fuel filler neck, one black and one blue see pic attached.
Would anyone know what these are for where they should go.
I don’t seem to have a rear fog lamp, checked bulb and fuse all ok, had a look a the ribbon cable cable behind dash switch and looks ok too.
Hope someone can help.
Many thanks.

Did you remember to have your headlamps on, not on full beam to test fog light? (Just a thought)

Yes I had them on dip, also no tell tale light on the dash switch/button?

They may possibly be redundant wires from the Range Rover loom for rear speakers? Many cars have rear speakers added to make use of them. smile Another possibility is the low fuel light, which was only a function in the gauges on the early 1993-94 models. So, again, redundant.

There is no tell tale for dipped beam, only side lights and full beam. There should be a tell tale for the rear fog lamp however.

What I meant was the rear fog dash knob doesn’t illuminate when switch on, likewise no fog light?

Re rear cables good call on the tank warning level.

You mentioned the ribbon cable so I assume you perhaps have access to the lighting control box.

  • Have you had the ribbon cable disconnected? They can be refitted the wrong way round. There is marking for pin1 on both the switch and the module but very difficult to see.
  • If you have access to the module test for +12V at pin A1 (Blue/red) (goes into module saying dip beam on). test for +12V at pin B5 (Yellow/Red) (to fog light).

I have checked the cables you mentioned and can confirm 12volt across them, double checked the ribbon cables all ok, and the fog light switch is working.?
I guess it could be the control box??
Any assistance would be gratefully received.
