Hi All,

Anyone run into any issues following the "de-baffling" of the pipes (or what kind of difference it makes to noise performance etc).
I only ask as a car am interested in had it's pipes "de-baffled" at a specialist garage a few years ago - was just curious as to whether it is a normal thing to do....?

I would guess that this means the silencer has been modified, yes it makes it louder, but no change on performance

Harsh and raucous. Not nice but perhaps that is just my opinion.

If you're near Milton Keynes, can always pop round and listen to mine. I owned mine a grand total of 1 week, before I put mine in to have the 'sports' conversion at TMS TVR, that was 20+ years ago now...

Be warned if you do this, you need to find a friendly MOT person. As even though a main dealer completed my de-baffle, they then promptly failed it on noise on it's next MOT...! confusedphonearguebyebyegetmecoat

Many thanks JJ - Sadly the only time of the year I am near-Milton Keynes is during the F1 weekend, but thank you for the offer. Anyway - my query was relating to a potential Chimaera purchase that was de-baffled and I've just seen the car has now sold so it's no longer a concern - and my search continues.....
