Hi all..

whats the little read/green split LED for in the middle of the centre console/armrest.. (on newer chims this is where the door release is I believe)..

I get a nice little green light when I switch the ignition on and the Fuel line pressurises, then it goes out once the pressure is there. Interestingly I can't find mention of it in the handbook...

...oo and whilst I'm at it, is there any way of locking the car without arming the alarm (I don't have any fobs, just the key)

Cheers
Matt.

I believe so matt, green tells me it's working when switching on for 5 secs or so. If its icy it should come on, red i think, but never seen it!! or even know what temp it comes on at, it must be in the bible somewhere.

it's in your manual, off for over 5 degrees, amber for under 5, green for 0 ish and red for -5 or summat like that. Totally unreliable and as accurate as drunk on his way home from the pub but entertaining I spose

Surely the name ice sensor is a tad misleading. All it does is measure the air temperature outside the toastie cabin. A play on words hear by the TVR marketing people possibly.

Hi ,
Re the locking without alarm.
Just turn the key to your left - drivers door - and you will lock without the alarm etc being activated.

M@H, I have exactly the LED config you describe (ie a circular black button about the size of the old 1/2p piece, horizontally split in 2, top is green LED, bottom is red LED) except mine is in the bottom RHS corner of the dashboard. And I've never seen either LED light up at any time. Absolutely no idea what it is, it certainly aint in the handbook.

There is no amber - green when its cold, green/red when its very cold and just red when its freezing your bollocks off.

Mine worked quite well - it was on the dash just right of the steering wheel. (94M Chimaera).

Strange, you would appear to have a speedometer that is graduated in km/h instead of mph

There was a discussion on the TVR email list about the ice detectors in the last week - have a look at the archives on www.yahoogroups.com, tvrccmaillist

Jamie - mines a 98 chim and does exactly the same.
Goes green/amber/red when you turn the ignition on, but is either off >3degC, or red <3degC

Joolz has changed the sensor in the bumper, but made no difference.

Mine's been greeny yellow, amber and red so far so it seems to work. Freeked me out before I knew what it did.
